Born and raised in Amsterdam, Cimo Fränkel is an accomplished singer/songwriter/producer who has earned international acclaim at an early stage in his career. After deciding that music was to become his full-time profession, Cimo went on to cultivate his talents first as a composer- co-writing the massive hit “Shotgun” for Dutch stars YELLOW CLAW and going double platinum with the song “Mooie Dag” by Jayh Jawson. Later he also featured as a vocalist on various popular International Dance tracks around the globe – “Strong Ones” with Armin van Buuren, “Back to 94” with Daddy’s Groove and “Belong” with EDX among many others. And after having success as a co-producer (and writer) on the Global smash “Sex” by Cheat Codes & Kris Kross Amsterdam which has over 350 million streams on Spotify, Cimo discovered that he can really become an all-around artist, leading to his new self-released single on February 10, 2017 “Occassional Love”
Cimo is no stranger to the international pool of artistic talents. Besides featuring on the abovementioned records, the list of artists he has worked with or written for is equally impressive: Skrillex, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Scott Storch, Bebe Rexha, Far East Movement, Darrel Brown, Bryan Kennedy, Wildstylez, James Arthur, Laidback Luke, Boaz van de Beatz among so many more.
2016 saw him hit the stage and tour the with with Armin van Buuren during his global Armin Only tour, which will come to a climax with 2 stadium shows in Amsterdam on May 12 & 13, 2017.
All of this is happening around the launch of Cimo’s defining solo artist material, of which “Occassional Love” is the inspiring introduction. It features a Reggae infused vibe that goes as pop as the songs by The Police did in their heyday. It’s all in-house written, perfomed & produced by Cimo and is a great culmination of the skills he has developed over the years. It is also unapologetic as it does not conform to any particular trend that you would hear on today’s radio stations. Just an excellent song accompanied by a smooth vibe, a universal groove and a wondrous melody – music for everyone with an interested ear.
